1. Complete mitochondrial genome of Pisaura bicornis (Araneae: Pisauridae) and its phylogenetic implications
Shu-Yan Yan, Kang-Kang Xu, Da-Xing Yang, Can Li, Wen-Jia Yang Mitochondrial DNA B Resour. 2019 Sep 24;4(2):3171-3172. doi: 10.1080/23802359.2019.1667921.
The complete mitochondrial genome of Pisaura bicornis (GenBank accession number MN296112) is 15,281 bp in length and contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and a putative control region. The overall base composition of this genome is A (35.65%), C (8.12%), G (13.47%) and T (42.76%), demonstrating an obvious bias of high AT content (73.2%). ATT, ATA, TTG were initiation codons and TAA, TAG, and T were termination codons. Ten tRNAs (trnD, trnF, trnG, trnH, trnK, trnP, trnR, trnT, trnY, and trnE) lacked the TΨC arm stem, while three tRNAs (trnA, trnS1 , and trnS2 ) lost the dihydrouracil (DHU) arm. Phylogenetic tree based on 13 PCGs showed that P. bicornis is closely related to Dolomedes angustivirgatus and belongs to Pisauridae.
2. The complete mitochondrial genome of Psylliodes balyi Jacoby (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae)
Xin-Ju Gao, Heng-Liang Wang, Jun-Huai Zu Mitochondrial DNA B Resour. 2020 Jul 20;5(3):2909-2910. doi: 10.1080/23802359.2020.1791752.
The complete mitogenome of Psylliodes balyi Jacoby (GenBank accession number MT644112) is 14,561 bp in length, and contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and a putative control region. The gene content and orientation of P. balyi were identical to other beetle mitogenomes. ATT, ATA, and ATG were initiation codons and TAA, TAG, and T were termination codons. All the 22 tRNAs have the typical cloverleaf secondary structure, except for trnS1 which lacked the dihydrouracil (DHU) arm. The phylogenetic relationship based on the neighbor-joining method showed that P. balyi is closely related to Agasicles hygrophila, which agrees with the conventional classification.
3. Complete mitochondrial genome of a predominant parasitoid, Necremnus tutae (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) of the South American tomato leafminer Tuta absoluta (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae)
Xiao-Cao Tian, Xiao-Qing Xian, Gui-Fen Zhang, Cristina Castañé, Jörg Romeis, Fang-Hao Wan, Yi-Bo Zhang Mitochondrial DNA B Resour. 2021 Feb 12;6(2):562-563. doi: 10.1080/23802359.2021.1875902.
The complete mitochondrial genome of a predominant parasitoid, Necremnus tutae (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) (GenBank accession number MT916846) is 15,252 bp in length, and contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and an A + T-rich region. The overall base composition is 38.86% for A, 7.14% for C, 8.57% for G, and 45.43% for T, with a high AT bias of 84.29%. ATA, ATT, ATG were initiation codons and TAA and T were termination codons. All the 22 tRNAs displayed a typical cloverleaf secondary structure, except for trnS1 and trnR which lacked the dihydrouracil (DHU) arm. Phylogenetic analyses were performed using 13 PCGs showed that N. tutae is closely related to Tenthredo tienmushana, which in accordance with the traditional classification.
