2.Probing Molecular Dynamics by Laser-Induced Backscattering Holography.

We use differential holography to overcome the forward scattering problem in strong-field photoelectron holography. Our differential holograms of H_{2} and D_{2} molecules exhibit a fishbonelike structure, which arises from the backscattered part of the recolliding photoelectron wave packet. We demonstrate that the backscattering hologram can resolve the different nuclear dynamics between H_{2} and D_{2} with subangstrom spatial and subcycle temporal resolution. In addition, we show that attosecond electron dynamics can be resolved. These results open a new avenue for ultrafast studies of molecular dynamics in small molecules.
3.Roles of Dopamine D₂ Receptor Subregions in Interactions with β-Arrestin2.
Zhang X1, Choi BG2, Kim KM1. Biomol Ther (Seoul). 2016 Apr 11. doi: 10.4062/biomolther.2015.198. [Epub ahead of print]
β-Arrestins are one of the protein families that interact with G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). The roles of β-arrestins are multifaceted, as they mediate different processes including receptor desensitization, endocytosis, and G protein-independent signaling. Thus, determining the GPCR regions involved in the interactions with β-arrestins would be a preliminary step in understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in the selective direction of each function. In the current study, we determined the roles of the N-terminus, intracellular loops, and C-terminal tail of a representative GPCR in the interaction with β-arrestin2. For this, we employed dopamine D₂ and D₃ receptors (D₂R and D₃R, respectively), since they display distinct agonist-induced interactions with β-arrestins. Our results showed that the second and third intracellular loops of D₂R are involved in the agonist-induced translocation of β-arrestins toward plasma membranes.
4.Calcium-Vitamin D Co-supplementation Affects Metabolic Profiles, but not Pregnancy Outcomes, in Healthy Pregnant Women.
Asemi Z1, Samimi M2, Siavashani MA3, Mazloomi M4, Tabassi Z2, Karamali M4, Jamilian M5, Esmaillzadeh A6. Int J Prev Med. 2016 Mar 1;7:49. doi: 10.4103/2008-7802.177895. eCollection 2016.
BACKGROUND: Pregnancy is associated with unfavorable metabolic profile, which might in turn result in adverse pregnancy outcomes. The current study was designed to evaluate the effects of calcium plus Vitamin D administration on metabolic status and pregnancy outcomes in healthy pregnant women.
