Esculentin-1SEb is a mast cell degranulating peptide. It causes histamine release from rat peritoneal mast cells in vitro. Esculentin-1SEb has antibacterial activity against the Gram-negative bacterium E.coli K12 and Gram-positive bacterium M.luteus NCT C2665.
