1. Sesqui- and Diterpenoids from the Radix of Curcuma aromatica

Eight new sesquiterpenoids (1-8), two new diterpenoids (9 and 10), and 17 known sesqui- and diterpenoids (11-27) were isolated from the radix of Curcuma aromatica. Among these compounds, 1 is an unprecedented guaiane with unique cyclopropane and furan functionalities, and 9 is the first atisane diterpenoid isolated from a Curcuma species. Their 2D and 3D structures were established using HRESIMS and spectroscopic methods, including ECD and IECD data. The antioxidant activities of compounds 1-27 were evaluated based on their ability to protect PC12 cells against H2O2-induced damage, with 1, 2, 5-8, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 19 exhibiting notable antioxidant effects on oxidative injury induced by H2O2.

In the title compound, {[Cu2Na2(C10H2O8)1.5(H2O)6]·H2O} n , the Cu(2+) ion is hexa-coordinated by five O atoms from benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra-carboxyl-ate (btec(4-)) ligands and one water mol-ecule. The Na(+) ion is also hexa-coordinated, by four O atoms from btec(4-) ligands and two water mol-ecules. One of the two btec(4-) mol-ecules sits on a crystallographic inversion centre. CuO6 and NaO6 octa-hedra are connected, forming bi-dimensional layers. These layers, which extend parallel to the ac plane, are further inter-connected by μ10- or μ11-bridging btec(4-) ligands and by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, involving both btec(4-) ligands and water mol-ecules, forming a three-dimensional network.
3. On Interpolating Sesqui-Harmonic Maps Between Riemannian Manifolds

Motivated from the action functional for bosonic strings with extrinsic curvature term we introduce an action functional for maps between Riemannian manifolds that interpolates between the actions for harmonic and biharmonic maps. Critical points of this functional will be called interpolating sesqui-harmonic maps. In this article we initiate a rigorous mathematical treatment of this functional and study various basic aspects of its critical points.
